Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson remains a strong fantasy option entering Sunday's Week 7 matchup against Detroit. Watson only caught three of eight targets for 64 yards against Dallas last week, but he still leads Green Bay with 538 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 29 receptions through six games. His 18.6-yard average highlights the big-play ability that makes him dangerous against a Detroit defense allowing an NFL-high 297.4 passing yards per game. Watson has recorded 25 receptions for 478 yards and three touchdowns in seven career meetings with Detroit. However, Detroit leads the NFL with 20 sacks, and consistent pressure could limit Watson's downfield opportunities. Watson (ankle) remained limited in practice all week but has no injury designation for Sunday, and head coach Matt LaFleur expressed no concern about his availability. RotoBaller ranks Watson WR7 for Week 7. His established scoring production and favorable matchup make him a must-start WR1 with considerable upside.
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said there is no concern about wide receiver Christian Watson's (ankle) status for the Week 7 game on the road this Sunday against the division-rival Detroit Lions, according to Weston Hodkiewicz of the team's official website. Watson was included on the Week 7 injury report and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, but apparently the 27-year-old is fine and will be available this weekend as the Packers' offense looks to stay on a roll. Quarterback Jordan Love (back) and receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder) were also limited with injuries, but Green Bay is expected to have all of their top weapons while potentially getting starting running back Josh Jacobs back as well. Watson has stayed healthy through the first six weeks of 2026 and has been phenomenal for his fantasy managers, ranking third at the position in half-PPR scoring with 29 receptions on 48 targets for 538 yards and six touchdowns. Only Jaxon Smith-Njigba and CeeDee Lamb have more fantasy points than Watson.
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson totaled 64 yards on three of eight receiving in Sunday's 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It's a disappointing finish for fantasy, as the Arizona native let a would-be 26-yard touchdown slip through his grasp in the third quarter. The pass was tipped before it reached Watson, but he had his hands on it, and it looked like a makeable play. While it may not be the outcome fantasy managers hoped for, the 27-year-old is trending toward a career year and is on pace to smash his previous personal bests across the board in far fewer appearances. Even if Watson falls slightly behind second-year teammate Matthew Golden in the target hierarchy, Green Bay's target share is consolidated enough that the former's production shouldn't take too much of a hit. The Pack will get an excellent matchup next Sunday against Detroit's league-worst pass defense.
