Houston Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale will be the second running back for Houston this week against the Giants, with both David Montgomery (groin) and Jawhar Jordan (quad) ruled out. The veteran has been active in each of the last three games but has only played one snap, without a carry or a catch. While Woody Marks is expected to handle almost all the work in the backfield, the team is confident in Ogunbowale's ability to succeed as well, according to offensive coordinator Nick Caley. Caley said of Ogunbowale, "We have faith whoever's out there, we have faith that we're going to put them in the best position." Barring an injury to Marks, though, Ogunbowale will probably be only involved a little bit in the team's game plan. He is only the RB57 in RotoBaller's Week 7 rankings, so he can be left on the waiver wire in all but the deepest of leagues.
Houston Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale is set to be the team's primary backup behind Woody Marks in Week 6 after David Montgomery (groin) was ruled out. The 32-year-old veteran played just one snap last week and didn't touch the ball, but he was the only running back besides Marks and Montgomery to get any offensive work at all. Ogunbowale was on the Raiders' practice squad before joining the Texans, but he has yet to have a catch or carry in his two games this season. Ogunbowale could mix in on third downs due to his pass protection and his contributions as a pass-catcher, but he will likely have a very minimal role as Marks carries the load. The Jaguars have also been one of the best defenses in the league against running backs, making Ogunbowale only worth a look in the deepest of formats or in a DFS Showdown format as a punt play. He is RotoBaller's No. 54 RB this week, so he can be left on the waiver wire in most standard-sized leagues.
Houston Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale has largely been a special-teamer during his nine-year career, but he has seen more work as a runner in the past two weeks. With Nick Chubb (ribs) and Woody Marks (knee) dealing with injuries, Ogunbowale scored his first touchdown of the season in Week 14. He handled a season-high eight touches in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, with five carries for two yards and three receptions (four targets) for 32 yards as a receiver. The 31-year-old was in just a complementary role after Marks exited against the Cardinals, though, with second-year running back Jawhar Jordan seeing the bulk of the carries. Jordan handled 15 carries for 101 yards, becoming the first Texans running back to go over the century mark in rushing yards this season. Ogunbowale profiles as the receiving back if Chubb and Marks remain unavailable in Week 16 against the Raiders, limiting his fantasy appeal to just deeper PPR leagues.
