Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. remains a speculative stash after landing on injured reserve with a foot injury on October 10. The veteran must miss at least four games, making Week 10 against Cincinnati the earliest he could return. Pittman caught just seven passes for 89 yards in three appearances this season, while rookie Germie Bernard has emerged alongside DK Metcalf, recording 11 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown in Week 6. Fantasy managers with an available IR slot can consider stashing Pittman, but his limited production and growing target competition cloud his rest-of-season outlook.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) is being placed on injured reserve, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. Pittman had initially been ruled out for Week 5 after missing back-to-back practices, and the Steelers have now decided he'll need to miss an extended period of time. An injured reserve placement requires a minimum four-game absence, so Pittman will now be sidelined through Week 8, at the earliest. This news bodes well for Roman Wilson and his fantasy managers. Wilson was already trending up in fantasy football with 134 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games, and now he'll officially be penciled into the No. 2 receiver role behind DK Metcalf. Depending on the matchup, this Steelers offense can be capable of supporting multiple fantasy-relevant receivers, so Wilson should be viewed as a potential WR3/flex for at least the next month.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) is expected to miss multiple weeks, according to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Pittman was seen moving around the locker room on a scooter Wednesday with his left foot elevated. He already missed Week 2 with the injury, and his return hasn't brought much production, with just four catches for 31 yards on nine targets over the past two games. He now looks set to miss Sunday's matchup with his former team, Indianapolis. Roman Wilson is worth a look if he's still available in fantasy leagues. He's drawn six targets in every game this season and has scored in consecutive weeks, including a three-catch, 74-yard performance against Cleveland last Thursday. Rookie Germie Bernard also saw eight targets when Pittman missed Week 2, though Wilson has made the stronger case for fantasy consideration behind DK Metcalf.
