Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday for the second straight day, according to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. Kelce apparently came out of the Week 6 win over the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury, although for now the 37-year-old veteran and future Hall of Famer appears to be on the right side of questionable. If he can put in a full practice on Friday, the Chiefs could remove Kelce from the injury report altogether for the weekend. The 11-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro has slowed down a bit after a strong start to his 14th year in the NFL, but with bye weeks in full swing, Kelce will still be in the TE1 picture if he is active in Week 7 on Sunday night against the hosting Seattle Seahawks. Kelce will have a higher ceiling if receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring) misses his second straight game. Rice has yet to practice since injuring his hamstring in the Week 4 win over the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Kelce has scored twice in five games this year while catching 20 passes for 299 yards.
Kansas City Chiefs veteran tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) is on the Week 7 injury report with an ankle injury and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, according to Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star. An ankle injury might explain why Kelce has cooled off a bit in his last two games in wins over the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, as he has caught six of his nine targets for 68 yards and no touchdowns. The 37-year-old's ankle injury does not appear to be too serious, though, so Kelce should have a good chance to suit up this weekend as the Chiefs look to stay undefeated on the road on Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks. Fantasy managers will want to check back later this week to see if Kelce carries an injury designation into the weekend. The 11-time Pro Bowler and future Hall of Famer should be in play as a TE1 if he is active. Despite his age, Kelce has been a top-10 fantasy tight end through the first six weeks (five games played) with 20 catches for 299 yards and two touchdowns on 27 targets.
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (ankle) saw five targets and recorded four receptions for 53 yards (13.3 yards per reception) in a 22-6 Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. More notably, Kelce played through an ankle injury, according to head coach Andy Reid, as reported by Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star. Kelce's five targets were the second most in the passing game for the Chiefs on Sunday, behind only wide receiver Xavier Worthy (seven). The five receptions trailed only Worthy, who had seven receptions for 73 yards (10.4 yards per reception), and Kelce's 53 yards tied fellow tight end Noah Gray for second on the team in Week 6. With the win, the Chiefs moved to a perfect 5-0 on the 2026 season thus far. Fantasy managers will need to keep a close eye on Kelce's ankle issue moving forward, but the fact that he played through it against the Chargers is a positive sign. Kelce will remain a TE1 as long as he is active.
